Why is January 6th, such an important topic for Americans?
Because, the people we trust, to run our government, need to be held accountable for what they do in our name and with our hard-earned taxes. If We the People, don't keep them in check, others will be tempted to take over control. That's never a good thing.
Insurrection is an important consideration, because we don't want powerful people duking it out over the office of our Presidency. We can't have one half of the country electing someone so antagonistic toward the opposition that they feel like they have to use force of arms to assume power.
Treason is an important consideration, because if we were attacked by a foreign power in such a way, that requires a declaration of war! Right? That's an institutional stab wound to our heart! Not a joke. Civil wars and wholesale societal collapse with generational repercussions are at stake.
False Flag Operation is an important consideration, because if foreign and/or domestic interests are cheating to subvert they way our elections are set up, without the consent of the governed, then such plots must be answered with serious jail time. I would even argue executions.

In short, an insurrection is an uprising against an established authority. The modern use applies the term to governments, but the larger definition includes organizations or establishments. To be an insurrectionist, you must be someone knowingly participating in an "uprising", fully intending on taking over or abolishing a government or institution.

Whoever incites, sets on foot, assists, or engages in any rebellion or insurrection against the authority of the United States or the laws thereof, or gives aid or comfort thereto, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than ten years, or both; and shall be incapable of holding any office under the United States. January 6th, Timeline
Four days after the election, CNN publishes an article declaring Joseph R. Biden as the 46th President of the United States. A quote from the article states, "Trump, who was on the golf course when CNN and other networks called the race for the former vice president, has shown no indication that he intends to concede. While en route to his course in Virginia, he tweeted: 'I WON THIS ELECTION, BY A LOT!'"
The New York Times - "Trump Fires Mark Esper, Defense Secretary Who Opposed Use of Troops on U.S. Streets" - November 9th, 2020
The article's title suggested that Esper was fired because he refused to follow President Trump's demands that he use the US Military to quell civil disturbances occurring in June of 2020. It is a fact that a loosing President has ever fired cabinet level secretaries, for any reason, as it is an honorific to the leaders supporting the executive, to participate in the peaceful transition of power and to enable governmental continuity as the new team takes over.
The Tribe Dossier writer claims that "I specifically alerted Tribe that there was an imminent risk the data “can be exploited to manipulate U.S. elections.” It should be noted that this dossier written to the Harvard Law Professor doesn't have a specific source, other than "Ukraine" and that it was key to understanding if there was anyone who knew January 6th was coming and what were the aims of the organizers.
It should be noted that Dr. Laurence Henry Tribe is an American legal scholar who is a University Professor Emeritus at Harvard University. He previously served as the Carl M. Loeb University Professor at Harvard Law School. A constitutional law scholar, Tribe is co-founder of the American Constitution Society.
It should be noted that the American Constitution Society is funded by a who's who of Democrat Donors.
Finally, it should be noted that the Tribe Dossier was never mentioned in the January 6th, hearing held on Capital Hill, but was used extensively to justify suspicions that a foreign power [Namely Russia] was planning to disrupt the U.S. Election Certification taking place on January 6th, 2021.
Many news reports of Demonstrations in support of Donald Trump, occur all over the country. Prominent among those seen to show up at these large rally's are groups like the "Proud Boys" and "Women for America First". Many left-leaning news outlets are quick to point out these groups in attendance, but the bulk of the demonstrations were made up of non-affiliated Trump supporters. Case in point were the demonstrations held in mid November and the one on December 12th, 2020.
Some injuries to law enforcement occurred during these demonstrations. While it's hard to do a full count, it is clear in the reporting that the violence occurred when counter demonstrators showed up to agitate those in attendance.
January 5th, 2021 - Additional Security was Refused by Capital Hill Police and the DC Park Police
President Trump offered the National Guard to help with Security, 4 days prior to the January 6th demonstration. It was refused by the House Speaker's office as well as advised against, by Gen. Milley. The intellegence way back in November, was that there was going to be trouble, which is why the National Guard was offered.
Two Pipe-bombs Were Placed at the DNC and RNC DC Headquarters the Night before the Demonstration
In a video published by the FBI we know that the first pipe-bomb was placed at the RNC Headquarters between the hours of 7:00 PM and 8:00 PM on January 5th, 2021, then a subsequent pipe-bomb was placed at the DNC Headquarters within that same timeframe. While both devices did have functional bomb components, neither one of them were operable. (According to Steven D'Antuono, the former Assistant Director in Charge of the FBI Washington Field Office)
Up until the writing of this article, the FBI still does not have a chargable attempted bombing suspect in custody. The FBI did, however, raise the reward to $500k, for any information leading to the arrest and conviction of said suspect.
